Name: Nina Nelson
Age: 47
Course: NLP

What is your occupation? I Worked in HSBC, until recently making a career change to be a Support Time Recovery Worker for the Community Mental Health Team. The NLP helps to under pin this work, supported by my voluntary work as a counsellor.

Why did you choose to do this course? to further both professional and personal development. In truth, I was struck by curiosity after meeting Marie and hearing her talk about the courses she was going to offer. I started with evening taster sessions in Energy work, I had no idea what to expect, but I like surprises and I knew it would be both exciting and unique. In fact all of the courses I've done with Advent Islands have been fun but at the same time intense.

What was your best memory of the course? Recalling the constant spontaneity and creativity of the training and the dynamics of the duo that run the courses; I love the interactive learning style of the course, and it's the creative nature that has ensured I've remembered what I've learnt. You can also actually see people's confidence grow throughout the course and you also feel yourself developing. Those have been the best feelings; however there have also been times when I've been rolling around on the floor howling with laughter.

What was the most challenging thing about the course? At the end of each course you do a group presentation exhibiting all that you've learnt in an innovative way. It's great team work, and presentations are not normally my thing, so I've gained a great deal from these experiences.

What would you say to potential new delegates? You learn so much more than traditional training allows; its wider deeper knowledge that is both unique and useful. The training is fun, exciting and yet a safe enjoyable environment. It will really help to boost your self confidence.
