Case Study
Name: Sue Harrison
Hi, I am a 48 year old Staff Nurse and proud of it, I now walk taller and act very differently than I did a year and a half ago. My Self esteem has returned, my understanding of myself and others is much improved, and I interact with people more effectively and my outlook on life has totally changed.
My confidence in my “SELF” and what I can achieve has soured 100%; I now know I’m not stupid, thick or slow – just different. I utilise my understanding a little differently than other people and my thought processes take a little longer to materialise, but I do get there in the end, and that’s OK.
Because of who I was then, I couldn’t cope with a lot of things, but didn’t realise it and just plodded on regardless and it nearly gave me a nervous breakdown; always trying to fix things and people, always being a victim without realising it and always staying in my safe zone and not being able to move forward. And just when I thought I couldn’t go on, I found NLP or more importantly, it found me. I joined a 4 day foundation course which, to my surprise, changed my life so dramatically, I just couldn’t believe it.
NLP gave me the tools to reshape the way I think or act, to perceive things that people say and do more effectively, giving me better rapport with the world in general. I came out of my safe zone and started to move forwards and become curious not scared or fearful. It’s been a very emotional journey for me, finally facing up to the demons inside, I’ve taken my head out of the sand and face the real world with confidence.
I then moved on and did the NLPwithin for effective communication, boy…I thought the foundation course was amazing, but the effective communication was the icing on the cake. It has brought everything together and made all of the blood sweat and tears worth it, life isn’t so complicated or difficult as it used to be.
People now see me differently, although I haven’t actually changed much in my life, just my actions and responses. I’ve realised you HAVE got choices and you just have to be true to yourself and not worry what other people are thinking or saying – that’s just their stuff – life is too short.
Thank you to Marie and Trish – you’ve given me the best makeover anyone could ask for.
